How to play Hiccup Hop
The jelly pals have the hiccups, and every hic! makes them hop. You never move them yourself: your only tool is a tap. These are the same rules the game shows under the ? button in every level.
The rules
Pals hop by themselves
Every turn, each awake pal hops one tile the way it faces. It turns around at walls.
Tap the floor to wait
Tap any empty tile to let one turn pass. Every awake pal hops once.
Tap a pal on its own pillow
When a pal lands on the pillow of its own color, tap it. It falls asleep and stays there. This uses a turn, so the other awake pals hop too.
Never on the floor!
Tapping a pal anywhere else puts it to sleep on the cold floor, and the level is lost.
Bump!
If two pals try to hop onto the same tile, or swap places, both turn around and stay where they are.
The goal
Put every pal to sleep before the sun comes up (before your moves run out). Sleeping pals block the others, so the order matters!
Plan your order
In bigger rooms, the whole puzzle is the order you put the pals to sleep in. A sleeping pal stays where it is and blocks the tile, so a pal you stop too early can be in the way of another.
Tips for the first levels
- Watch before you tap. Tap the floor to wait and see where each pal goes, but every wait uses one of your moves.
- Find each pal's pillow: it's the one in the pal's own color. If colors are hard to tell apart, turn on Colour symbols in Settings.
- Sleeping pals block the others, so think about who to put to sleep first.
- Pals turn around at walls, and two pals that bump both turn around. Use that to change their paths.
- Stuck? Use Undo or Retry, or a Hint to see the next right tap. Hints cost Pillow Points.
The Daily Puzzle
The Daily Puzzle opens once you finish level 10. Everyone in the world gets the same room each day. Solve it every day to keep your streak, and when you finish, share a little emoji card with your friends to see who did it in fewer moves.
Pillow Points
You earn Pillow Points by playing: from Daily Puzzle streaks, and when a friend you invited reaches level 10 and has played for a day (100 for you, 50 for your friend). Spend them on hints and cozy extras like pajama outfits. They can't be bought or turned into money, and you never earn them just for sharing.
